Iconoclast Endorses Biden For President
Although Texas is redder than a pool of blood, The Lone Star Iconoclast has opted to dismiss red state glassy-eyed antics and the lunatic fringe and instead promote the “blue” candidate for president, Joe Biden.
The historical legacy of the world’s most inept president shouts that Donald Trump be removed from office. He has earned a grade of F- on his report card where his number grade hovers around zero. He got elected because many Texans felt he demonstrated an independent streak However, his complete focus has been on himself, not the good of the country. He has betrayed the public with his constant lying and has nurtured an equally corrupt Republican base that at one time showed courage of convictions. Now the purpose of his direct constituents is to worship his ego….or else!
We thought that the George W. Bush dynasty could not be beaten as the worst administration ever, but we have learned during the past 3½ years that this second Republican misdirect operates more deeply into the sludge of contaminated battery acid than was ever imagined by George Bush.
As a supposed leader, Trump, by his infatuation with himself and lack of regard for the everyday citizen, has delivered his own brand of genocide upon the lives and deaths of our population. This is due largely to his support of perpetual racism and his disregard for the dangers posed by the corona-virus that has claimed lives not only on his watch but with his indirect urging. It’s all part of his herd mentality. If you run off the cliff and die you are weak. It’s simply the process of culling imperfect cows from the drove.
Back in 2004, the Iconoclast publisher delivered a keynote address under a giant tent to a crowd gathered in Princeton, New Jersey, the purpose being to promote freedom of the press. Also speaking was the governor of New Jersey and Senator Joe Biden who was a champion of the sanctity of truth. The Iconoclast, as Crawford’s independent hometown newspaper, had recently endorsed John Kerry over George Bush for president and as a result was targeted by Bush’s aggressive and intimidating Republican base with boycotts and death threats for simply expressing an opinion on the editorial page.
This same rabid Republican base is alive and well today, bullies and neo-Nazis who want to trounce anyone who exposes the truth. They have been trained to ignore the daily lies spewing between Trump’s teeth, either out of fear of retaliation or as an act of brainwashed advocacy.
Joe Biden and Donald Trump are opposites where it counts. Biden has real concerns for his countrymen and sincerely desires to turn Trump’s destructive path into one of hope. Biden has the ability to bring lawmakers of all stripes to the table for progress and problem-solving. He would use “our people” in the military and from inside various agencies as advisors instead of terrorists like Vladimir Putin, whom Trump loves, to direct American policy.
Trump and cronies such as corrupt GOP Sens. Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn deserve to be permanently sidelined from government.
The majority in the Senate needs to change into a force that is not defined by members who are blind to the truth. Their current silence is a confirmation that Trump’s lies are the new America. Their daily ineptitude is callously impacting American lives that are now abundant with fears and financial ruin.
Instead of embracing Trump’s failing American influence among allies worldwide, Biden would restore the United States to its previous power and provide promising examples of what true Democracy means to the masses.
It’s time to replace the dangerous mobster-in-chief with a man of integrity, which is why The Iconoclast urges voters to color in the printed oval beside Biden’s name as the next president of the United States.
